MLB for Wednesday

SP- Tim Lincecum SF- Lincecum is priced at just under 12K which is easily 4K less than what he would have been at the start of the season. His potential is huge because he can be a high strikeout guy. The matchup versus the Diamondbacks isn't that bad, and there are reports that Lincecum is about to turn a corner. We'll take it. We love the potential.

SP- Johnny Cueto CIN- Cueto has struggled in the last two weeks, but we like him to get back on track against the Pirates. They are a one man crew pretty much with McCuthchen being their stud. If he can work around him then Cueto should be fine.

RP- Rafael Soriano NYY- Soriano has been great since taking over the closer role from Mariano/Robertson. He hasn't pitched in two days, so he is fresh and more likely to throw in a 4 run win. We like Soriano to pick up the save tonight.

MLB for Tuesday

C- AJ Ellis LAD- Ellis is having a superb year so far, and in the last two weeks is hitting .309. He has 2 home runs in the last 4 games, and has 12 total hits in the last 10 games. Those are some good numbers for a guy under 6K and someone that was supposed to be an offensive liability.

1B- Albert Pujols LAA- Pujols is back ladies and gentleman. He is hitting over .300 in the last two weeks, and has added power hitting 6 home runs during that span. He is facing Pettite tonight who we can't imagine can keep up with his amazing start.

2B- Kelly Johnson TOR- Johnson is having a great year this season and is very hot right now. Yesterday he went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a home run. Great numbers for a guy that is priced at under 7K. He is facing Jake Arrieta at home which is very favorable for the O's offense in our opinion.

3B- Mark Trumbo LAA- Trumbo is our second Angels player on our squad today, but not because we think Pettite is going to get rocked today. We think Trumbo at his price of under 6K is too much to pass up on which his stats in the last two weeks. Yesterday against the Yankees, Trumbo went 3-5 with a double, triple, and a home run. Yea, put him on your squad.

SS- Brandon Crawford SF- Crawford is hitless in his last two games, but before that he had 9 hits in 7 games. He is dirt cheap at just over 4K, and it allows us to grab big hitters. He is facing Saunders the soft throwing lefty.

OF- Dayan Viciedo CWS- Viciedo is one of those picks today where he is so hot that you have to pick him no matter what the matchup. He is facing Shields today which on paper is a bad matchup, but if you just look at how hot Viciedo and the price it is to take him then it's worth it in our opinion. He is hitting .400 with 7 home runs and 20 RBI in the last two weeks and only costs 6K.

OF- Hunter Pence PHI- Pence has really been hitting well in the last two weeks, hitting to a .315 clip with 4 home runs. He is facing off against Hefner a righty for the Mets whose ERA is close to 9. This is favorable for Pence and the Phillies as they have been swinging better since the start of the season.

OF- Adam Jones BAL- Jones is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now. He is hitting .345 in the last two weeks with 4 home runs. He faces off against Romero today a very good lefty, but he can be hittable.

SP- Justin Masterson CLE- Masterson is very hot and cold. He can be a bad pitcher due to too many walks and pitches lefty over the plate, and then sometimes he can be dominate with his unreal two seamer hitting every spot he wants. Today he faces the Royals and he is going to need to hit his spots. This is a somewhat risky pick today as the Royals have some good left handed bats in their lineup, but we like it.

SP- Scott Feldman TEX- Feldman is a pick today that we like because of how cheap he is. At 6K it's hard to pass up on a pitcher that is truly not as bad as he has been pitching lately. The Mariners offense can be very dismal and we expect an average performance out of them tonight.

RP- Joe Nathan TEX- Nathan is going to pick up a save tonight we just know it. Vargas is on the mound for the Mariners, and he is a very quality lefty. Pair that with an average pitcher in Feldman and we have ourselves the making of a 6-3 ball game.

C: Rod Barajas – After a very sluggish start to his season, Barajas has turned it around lately by hitting .363 with 3 homeruns in the last two weeks.  In addition, he is less than 5K making him a steal.
1b: Prince Fielder – Prince is usually hitting well above .300, but his average has been climbing because he is 7 for his last 9 in the last two games.  Keep playing Fielder if he stays this hot for 7.5K.

2b: Freddy Galvis – Utley’s replacement has been hot of late after starting the season with a batting average in the low .200s.  Galvis is batting .314 in the last two weeks with 2 bombs and 10 RBIs.  Too make Galvis an even better option, he is less than 6K.
3b: Mark Trumbo – 4 for his last 8, Trumbo has his season batting average at .313 now, and he is hitting .339 over the last two weeks.

SS: Jose Reyes – Reyes is only 6.4K?...This makes sense due to his awful start, but Reyes is 11 for his last 30 with 5 stolen bases.
OF: Adam Jones – A 5 category guy, Jones has put himself in the MVP talks already with his unbelievable start to the season.  He is 4 for his last 11 with 2 stolen bases.

OF: Shin-Soo Choo – 4 for his last 9 with a homerun, Choo seems to have found his stroke as he is also batting .347 in his last 13 contests.  He faces the struggling Gavin Floyd today.
OF: Giancarlo Stanton – Ok, this guy hits massive bombs that should count for two homeruns.  He is 7 for his last 12 with a homerun and 5 RBIs in his last 3 games.

U: Martin Prado – 8 for his last 15, Prado all of a sudden is hitting .333 on the season as he has been a hitting machine of late.  He faces a lefty today in Gio Gonzalez.
U: Corey Hart – Hart now has 10 homeruns on the season, and he is batting .289 over the last two weeks to raise his season average to .264.

SP: Kyle Drabek – 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in his last two starts, his season ERA is now 3.27.  We understand he faces the Rangers today who have the best offense in the MLB, but Drabek has been very good lately and he is under 8K.
SP: P.J. Walters – Coming off a complete game victory in his last start with 8 strikeouts, Walters is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA.  He is valued at 8K, and faces the Tigers today.

SP: Brain Matusz – The young lefty for the Orioles has won his last 3 starts, and he has won 4 of his last 5 starts.  A week and a half ago, he faced the Royals and went 6 innings with 3 earned runs to lead the Orioles to victory.  We expect a similar stat line today.
RP: J.J. Putz – Picked up his 10th save of the season today, and we think he picks up save number 11 today vs. the Brewers.

MLB Picks for Friday

C- Rod Barajas PIT- Barajas should get the start tonight as he caught yesterday, but was off the day before. Tonight they are playing a night game, and we think his matchup versus Maholm is a good one. He has hits in 9 of his last 10 games, and is hitting .389 in the last two weeks.

1B- Albert Pujols LAA- Pujols' matchup tonight against King Felix doesn't scare us one bit. He has been hitting a lot better (.288 with 5 HRs in last two weeks), and Felix has not been pitching like himself (5.67 ERA in last two weeks).

2B- Robinson Cano NYY- After a slow start, Cano is really coming around in May. He is hitting over .300 in the last two weeks with 3 home runs. He is facing Bartolo Colon tonight that was hot to start the season, probably due to his starts versus the Mariners, and has cooled off as of late.

3B- Aramis Ramirez MIL- Aram is a part of a matchup tonight that we don't like at all for Wade Miley, the Diamondbacks starter tonight. He is facing a lefty and the three best hitters on the Brew Crew are righties (Hart, Aram, Braun). Ramirez has been hitting .280 in the last two weeks with only 1 home run.

SS- Ian Desmond WAS- Desmond has been hitting very well lately hitting to a tune of .322 with 4 HRs and double digits RBI and runs scored. He is facing a lefty in Minor that has struggled mightily in the last two weeks with an ERA of 10. We like him to continue to struggle against this Nationals offense.

OF- Melky Cabrera SF- Cabrera put up big time fantasy points the other night, and we like him to do it again right handed. His batting average over the last two weeks is .460 with 13 RBI and 15 runs scored. Those are just ridiculous numbers.

OF- Quintin Berry DET- Berry is hitting at the top of the order for the Tigers. They put up 10 runs last night against the Twins and we are expecting another high scoring game for them. Expect Berry to score 1 to 2 times tonight.

OF- Nelson Cruz TEX- Amazingly Cruz is only 5K tonight as he is coming off an 8 RBI game last night. He is a MUST PICK tonight as he is facing Alvarez the righty from the Blue Jays. In the last two weeks he is hitting .340.

SP- Derek Lowe CLE- Lowe is a solid pick for us today at the SP position. He is priced at under 10K and is facing a White Sox team that hasn't consistently been a great hitting team. They hit well yesterday, but we think Lowe's 1.20 ERA over the last two weeks will prove to be more true than a great job of hitting by the White Sox last night.

SP- Jaime Garcia STL- We can almost guarantee a large percentage of ownership with this pick. Last time he had 70% ownership in a 10 team league and performed well. He has 21Ks in the last 19.3 innings which are some great K numbers. His matchup against the Phillies is also favorable for him.

RP- Jason Motte STL- Motte is the obvious choice if you like the Cardinals to win. We don't expect Garcia to be perfect, so 2 runs over 7 innings isn't unlikely. Kendrick, for Philly, has pitched pretty well in the last two weeks (2.08 ERA), so we aren't seeing more than 5 runs scored for the Cardinals.

C: Jarrod Saltalamachia – The switch hitting catcher is under 7K, and he has 3 homeruns over the last two weeks to put his season total at 7.  He is also batting .333 over that stretch, and now finds his batting average creeping towards .300.
1b: Albert Pujols – Looks like Pujols is finally figuring out his swing in 2012.  Last night he went 3 for 4 with a bomb and 2 RBIs.

2b: Dan Uggla – Uggla loves lefties, and the Braves face Ross Detwiler today.  Fredi Gonzalez likes to use Uggla as the clean-up hitter against lefties.
3b: Jose Lopez – Valued at under 7K, and over the last two weeks Lopez has been peppering the field with a .343 batting average.

SS: Ian Desmond – Over the last 15 days, Desmond is batting just shy of .300 with 4 homeruns, 9 RBIs, 9 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases.
OF: Will Venable – Maybe the only Padre hitting right now, Venable is 6 for his last 10 with a homerun.

OF: B.J. Upton – Upton is one of the hottest hitters in the league right now, and has 8 stolen bases over his last 14 games.  He is 13 for his last 29, and is now batting .300 on the year.
OF: Adam Jones – Faces a lefty in Bruce Chen today, and Jones is batting over .300 this season with 14 bombs.

U: Corey Hart – Batting over .300 in the last two weeks with 3 homeruns, Hart is now in the leadoff spot and seeing some time at first base.
U: Jose Bautista – Faces a lefty today in Derek Holland, and he is 8 for his last 18 with 2 homeruns.

SP: Tyson Ross – Valued at 6K, Ross is 1-1 with a 1.5 ERA in his last two starts.  We understand Ross has to face the Yankees today, and this could be a death sentence, but we have a good feeling Ross will stay hot and keep the Yankees at bay today.
SP: Jeanmar Gomez – 1-0 in 13+ innings in his last two starts, Gomez has lowered his season ERA to 3.19 and is 3-2 on the year.  He only costs 8.7K.

SP: Lucas Harrell – In his last 17+ innings, Harrell has only given up 5 earned runs while striking out 13 batters.  He is valued at under 10K.
RP: Brett Myers – We believe Harrell gets the wind today as Myers comes in to shut the door on the Dodgers.  Myers has 11 saves on the year and a sub 2 ERA.  He has been pretty consistent.
