NBA Picks Monday

G1- Goran Dragic HOU- We love guards that play the Kings, and we love Dragic. So, needless to say, we love Dragic tomorrow. We are thinking at least 35 fantasy points, but for sure getting 2x his value. He has been playing very well in the last two weeks averaging 17 points and 9 assists per game.

G2- Avery Bradley BOS- Bradley had a monster game last night replacing Ray Allen and Pietrus. With just as many minutes as last night, there is no reason to expect 2 times his value. His price is just under 5K and because of that we love him as a guy to even get 3x his value tonight.

G3- Gordon Hayward UTH- Have you noticed how Hayward has been playing since he became a starter? Well, it has been a great week for him. Last night he put up over 30 fantasy points albeit in an insane game that resulted in 4 overtimes. He should continue to play well tonight versus the Nets.

F1- Chandler Parsons HOU- Parsons has been a major contributor since Lowry came out of the lineup. 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists is great for a rookie and that is exactly what he has done in the last two weeks. Expect more of the same versus a team like the Kings.

F2- Carlos Boozer CHI

F3- Paul Millsap UTH

C1- Demarcus Cousins SAC- Cousins is playing out of his mind right now, and at any price he is worth the cost. Don't over think this one and play Cousins tonight.

C2- Greg Steimsma BOS

C3- Dwight Howard ORL

NBA Picks Sunday

G1- Rajon Rondo BOS- Rondo is going to be an assist machine tonight and we wouldn't be surprised if he ended with a triple double. Boston doesn't usually score a ton of points, but against the Wizards we think they'll put up close to 100. This means more than the average fantasy points for a guy like Rondo.

G2- Steve Nash PHO

G3- Kyrie Irving CLE

F1- Kevin Garnett BOS- For the same reasons why we like Rondo, we like Garnett. We obviously aren't expecting a triple double out of him, but we can easily see 18 points and 14 rebounds on a night like this. KG should have a field day against the Wizards.

F2- Josh Smith ATL

F3- Paul Milsap UTH

C1- Al Jefferson UTH- Against the Hawks, Jefferson should be in line for a big game. Zaza isn't the best of defensive players, and he is also coming back from an injury that sidelined him earlier this week. Jefferson has been playing very well and we like him to do that again tonight.

C2- Marcin Gortat PHO

C3- Kendrick Perkins OKC

NBA Picks Saturday

G1- Klay Thompson GS- Thompson is facing a terrible Kings team that gives up plenty of points to guards. Thompson has been starting since the trade deadline and Curry's injury and has been capitalizing on the minutes.

G2- Goran Dragic HOU- Dragic is a must play at this point. He could put up 35 fantasy points on any given night, and has proved to be worth his 12K price at this point. No matter what the matchup, we love picking Dragic each and every night.

G3- Gerald Green NJ- Green is one of the few bench players we will ever pick. He has been hot lately, and it looks like the Nets should be up on the Bobcats and might even blow them out. If this is the case, look for Green to get solid minutes and put up over 2 times his value.

F1- Josh Smith ATL

F2- Kris Humphries NJ- Versus the Bobcats, we love Humphries tonight. He should have no problem having his usual once a week dominant game. The Bobcats are beat up down low, and honestly have nobody down low that is any good with experience to begin with. Play Humphries tonight even with his 15K price.

F3- Gerald Wallace NJ

C1- Demarcus Cousins SAC- Cousins is kind of pricey tonight with a price over 15K, but we think he'll be worth it. We looked at his 3 games versus the Warriors this season. They are as follows: 19-12, 21-20, and 21-14. Yep, those are pretty good numbers. We'll take him.

C2- Roy Hibbert IND

C3- Chris Kaman NO

NBA Fantasy Free Agent Notables

            It’s time to make that last-second playoff push for season-long NBA fantasy players, and there are some free agents out there, especially in deeper leagues, who could really help fantasy owners.  Here are my top 5 “sleepers” who you should take a look at:

1.     Gordon Hayward (Jazz SG, SF): The Butler alum is en fuego.  In his last five games, he has scored 32, 29, 4, 33, and 34 fantasy points.  Ok, we will forgive him for the 4 fantasy point night.  Furthermore, Hayward is looking even more appealing as he was promoted to starter with Josh Howard now out for the season.  In two starts, Hayward has put up 33 and 34 fantasy points.  Need I say more?  Here’s his stat line from last night: 18 points, 7 boards, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block on DeMarcus Cousins.  He puts up strong numbers in every category.

2.     Chandler Parsons (Rockets SF): Arguably the best rookie this year (Kyrie Irving might hate me for that comment).  He missed one game due to illness recently, but here are his last five games: 39, 26, 5, 26, and 39 fantasy points.  He is really benefiting from Kyle Lowry being sidelined with his injury.  Last night against Golden State he scored 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.  That’s a solid fantasy line especially from someone who is owned by only 18.3% of ESPN fantasy leagues.

3.     Derrick Favors (Jazz PF): It’s time to jump onto the bandwagon of the former Georgia Tech standout.  Even though he sees limited minutes as a reserve, he makes the most of them.  He plays just over 20 minutes a game, and check out his fantasy points in the last five games: 34, 26, 25, 50, and 41.  These numbers are absurd since he doesn’t even start!  In addition, over this five game stretch, he has averaged 12.4 rebounds.  Derrick’s play has led the Jazz to a 5 game win streak.

4.     Tristan Thompson (Cavs PF, C): Now given the opportunity to start, Thompson has had some big nights.  Against the Nets he put up 48 fantasy points (27 points, 12 rebounds).  The problem with Thompson though is his inconsistency.  This outburst of 48 is sandwiched by 12 and 16 fantasy points.  Was the 48 a fluke?  Only time will tell, but he is definitely worth a look since he has moved into the starting lineup, and he is clearly capable of having big nights.

5.     Greg Stiemsma (Celtics C): Ummm, who is this?  He is only owned by 2.2%, and he put up 36 fantasy points last night.  He does come off the bench, but due to his recent play, his minutes are increasing.  He saw action in 24 minutes last night and was a huge defensive presence with 5 blocks and 4 steals.  If you are in desperate need at center, or if you maybe just really like former Wisconsin Badgers, then Stiemsma is your guy.

Honorable Mention:

Ben Gordon (Pistons SG): Sure, he scored 45 points last game, and he was 9-9 from beyond the arc, but we all know this was probably a fluke.  He is such a tease to fantasy owners.  He is capable of going on fire, but he is candidly a very streaky shooter.  But with Stuckey day-to-day, Gordon is a must add for the short term because of his increase in minutes and shot attempts.  Once Stuckey is healthy, get rid of Gordon because he will only frustrate you because of his inconsistency.
