NHL Recap for 1-19-12 and Picks for Today

Let's just call this "Please tell me you picked Teddy Purcell Night." Here's a look at the numbers:

Marc-Andre Fleury     4.5
Chris Kunitz               2.1
Teddy Purcell             8.9
Jonathan Toews          5.6

Was rushed by the last minute decision to start Fleury, so I made a quick swap. Fleury at least got the win and didn't cost us an arm and a leg. Purcell was obviously the pick of the night by easily scoring more than his cost.

Picks for Today

Dwayne Roloson: Lightning- Roloson is at Phoenix, but we are going to bank on the Lightning offense taking advantage of the weak goaltending that's going on in Arizona right now. Roloson has a great offense behind him, so there's no reason to believe he'll get at least 3 goals of cushion and for a price of just under $9,000 that should be enough.

Teddy Purcell: Lightning- Purcell is extremely hot right now playing alongside a great player in Stamkos. Why not take him especially at an very low price. Ride the hot streak against the Coyotes.

Matt Moulson: Islanders- The Islanders have an amazing top line with Moulson, Tavares, and Okposo. They face Carolina today, a team that will be playing its second game in a row. The Islanders will be at home and a great pick for offensive players tomorrow Moulson included.

Johan Franzen: Red Wings- The Mule is playing great right now and so is Pavel Datsyuk. Franzen is the cheaper option of the two and just as likely to score as Datsyuk. Facing the Blue Jackets at home will be a high scoring offensive affair where they haven't lost in 14 or 15 straight. Go with Franzen and be confident he'll get you between 4-6 fantasy points.
