MLB Picks for Saturday

C- AJ Ellis LAD- Ellis got the day off yesterday, so it's a good bet he'll be back in the lineup today. He's hitting .286 with 2 home runs in the last two weeks and will be hitting at Coors Field tonight. Nicasio has dramatically worse numbers when pitching at home, so this should be a good matchup for Ellis.

1B- Eric Hosmer KC- Hosmer has really turned it around in the last two weeks hitting over .300 with 1 home run. He's averaging just under 3 fantasy points per game during that time. McCarthy is pitching for the A's today and that should be good for Hosmer. McCarthy is the type of pitcher that will give up his hits and rely on groundballs to get through innings.

2B- Dan Uggla ATL- Uggla pounds Strasburg. End of story. He is 6-8 off of him in his career with multiple extra base hits. Just last week he hit a home run off of Strasburg. Great play for the price and career numbers Uggla has put up against Stras.

3B- Kyle Seager SEA- Seager is a littler pricey, but we like how he has hit recently (.320 average with 2 home runs). He is facing the righty in Floyd who isn't a dominant pitcher. Floyd's ERA in the last two weeks is over 15.

SS- Jed Lowrie HOU- Earlier in the season Lowrie went off and was hitting like an All Star shortstop. He has slowed down, but he is back to hitting over .300 in the last two weeks. His numbers read like this: .314, 2 home runs, 6 RBI, 6 runs scored, and 1 stolen base. Those are some good numbers for a 6K shortstop.

OF- Curtis Granderson NYY- Granderson is facing off against the struggling Tigers and Rick Porcello. I'm not sure anyone thinks Porcello is going to be a solid start today against this Yankees lineup and Grandy is a reason why. He's hitting .280 over the last two weeks, but has 4 home runs during that time. He crushes the ball against the Tigers it seems like, so this should be a good play.

OF- Delmon Young DET- Young is 4K after having a solid day yesterday for us. He's facing a righty, but we still like him for his price especially because of his recent numbers. He's hitting .358 with 3 home runs in the last two weeks.

OF- Bryce Harper WAS- Harper is an electrifying player. He does many things for the Nationals, and some of them you can't see on paper. On paper though this is what you do see: .340 average with 2 home runs and 10 runs scored in the last two weeks. Those are big numbers for a rookie at a 7K price.

SP- Brian Matusz BAL- Matusz has been pitching very well in his last 5-6 starts. His numbers overall don't look great, but if you take away the first few starts then you'll see a different story. In his last two starts, he has 14 Ks in 12.1 innings with an ERA of 2.98. Today he faces the Rays whose dominant hitters are mostly lefty. We like this matchup.

SP- Luke Hochevar KC- Hochevar also started the season with some rough outings, but only recently has he started to pitch well. He's pitching at home today against the A's who now have Yoenis back, but we think that's more of a positive than a negative. There are some good strikeout candidates on that team.

RP- Tyler Clippard WAS- Clippard had an extra day off yesterday with the rain out, so he'll be fresh and ready to go today. We like Strasburg to pitch very well today against the Braves and keep it low scoring along with Beachy. We like the final score to be 4-2 when Clippard gets handed the ball.
