MLB Picks for Wednesday

C- AJ Ellis LAD- Ellis isn't incredibly hot right now, but his overall batting average is .308 this season and recently it has only dropped to .275. He is facing a righty in Kendrick who has pitched well as of late (1.28 ERA), but Ellis isn't a strikeout candidate, so a negative isn't in store for his total tonight.

1B- Albert Pujols LAA- Pujols is red hot hitting .340 in the last two weeks with 5 home runs and over 10 RBI/runs scored. He is facing a young righty in Noesi who hasn't been hot as of late. Pujols is under 8K, so we love the pick.

2B- Robinson Cano NYY- Cano's batting average over the last two weeks isn't the best, but he has been hitting for extra bases lately. In his last 3 games he has 4 hits with a double and a triple. In all, he has 8 extra base hits in the last 10 games.

3B- Michael Young TEX- Young is hitting .333 in the last two weeks yet isn't average some great fantasy points number. He only has 3 RBI during that time, but it won't be long before guys get on base in front of him. He faces Bartolo Colon today which should be a good matcup for a great pure hitter like Young.

SS- Jose Reyes MIA- Reyes is hitting an awesome .365 in the last two weeks. He has also added 3 stolen bases to his stat line. Delgado is the guy he faces today who has been very average this season. Miami might be in store for a good offensive night, and we like Reyes to start it for them.

OF- Bryce Harper WAS- Harper isn't hitting like a teenager right now. Over the last two weeks he is hitting .349 with 3 home runs. Also, he had his first walk off hit of his career last night. Very impressive for a guy that hasn't turned 20 yet. Today he faces a guy whose ERA is just under 9. We like.

OF- Jeff Francoeur KC- Francoeur is a low cost guy today facing a pitcher that will only cost DS owners 3K to have on their squad today. We are one of those owners because of his insanely low price, but he does give up his fair share of hits. Francoeur should get at least one of them.

OF- Alex Rios CWS- Rios is one of the hottest hitters on the White Sox right now. He is hitting over .350 right now with 4 home runs. He has also added to that stat line 13 RBI and 13 runs scored. This is great news for Rios owners, and for daily fantasy players his matchup today is very nice (Morrow 10 ERA).

SP- Nick Blackburn MIN- Blackburn is priced at 3K, so we are expecting almost everyone to be on him today. The Royals do have some solid hitters, but for the price of 3K it shouldn't be hard to get his value.

SP- Jerome Williams LAA- Williams has been pitching very well lately. He is sporting a 3.46 ERA in his last 13 innings pitched. He only has 9 Ks during those innings which is low, but it's not why we like him today. His matchup versus the average offense in the Mariners is why we like him today.

RP- Scott Downs LAA- Downs should get a save opportunity for a couple of reasons. Williams isn't the best pitcher on the Angels, so we are thinking 6-7 innings with 3 earned runs max. Pair that with an Angels offense that isn't exactly where it needs to be and we like a 5-3 or 6-3 score today.
