MLB Picks for Tuesday

C- Russel Martin NYY- We had a bunch of money to spend on hitters today, so we didn't mind spending some cash on today's catcher. Martin has been swinging great hitting two home runs in one game the other day, and has hit at over a .340 clip in the last two weeks. He faces a lefty in Minor that could be a candidate for a terrible outing vs this lineup.

1B- Albert Pujols LAA- We had lots of money, and The Machine was only 8K? Yea, we'll take him almost every time now that he is out of that horrid slump. Only 2 home runs in the last two weeks, but he's hitting at a .386 clip during that time.

2B- Kelly Johnson TOR- Johnson's numbers aren't too impressive as of late hitting only .266 with 1 home run, but we like his matchup today. He faces Wang a bad sinker ball pitcher, and we think he'll groove one into Johnson's sweet spot.

3B- Hanley Ramirez MIA- We aren't in love with the third basemen tonight, we but we do think Hanley should put up some good fantasy points. Buchholz has been off and on this year, and Hanley is hitting over .300 in the last two weeks. Not a huge risk at 7K.

SS- Jose Reyes MIA- Reyes has hit very well lately hitting at a .320 average, but he needs some help from guys behind him. He only has 4 RBI and 3 runs scored during that time. To get his points today he'll need to steal a bag.

OF- Carlos Gonzalez COL- Cargo is red hot right now hitting .400 in the last two weeks with 6 home runs. He'll be hitting at home today against Colon which is a matchup we love. Sure Cargo is pricey, but the money was there to splurge on a guy like him.

OF- Alfonso Soriano CHC- Soriano is hitting .327 over the last two weeks and has hit for major power. 7 home runs during that time is a great stat. Scherzer is another one of those guys who could get lit up due to him leaving the ball up a good bit.

OF- Mike Trout LAA- Trout is hitting almost .500 during this two week span and if you have seen his last 10 games log on ESPN you'll see that it's filled with extra base hits and 2 hit games. We love this pick today against Harang.

SP- Nick Blackburn MIN- Blackburn was super cheap last week and we picked him so we decided to go with him again hoping it would prove to work again. He has a good ERA at 3.60 in his last 5 innings, and is facing a mild Phillies offense.

SP- Henderson Alvarez TOR- Alvarez is another cheap guy being priced at 6K, and is facing the Nationals who aren't known to consistently put up big runs. We don't think he'll be the best pick on our team today, but we think he'll get 3 points for his 6K price.

RP- Santiago Casilla SF- Casilla hasn't thrown since the 9th, and we really like Bumgarner to keep today's matchup against the Astros a low scoring affair. Casilla has filthy stuff and should rack up some Ks in today's game.
