Friday's MLB Picks

C: Carlos Ruiz – Other than Yadier Molina, he is the hottest catcher in baseball (.342, 3 HRs, and 14 RBI over the last 2 weeks).

1b: Bryan LaHair – The young first baseman for the Cubs is having a spectacular season, and he is batting over .400 in his last 10 games.

2b: Howie Kendrick – Priced at 6.5K, Kendrick is scorching the baseball recently (.355 in his last 12 games).
3b: Placido Polanco – The little guy is batting .320 over the last two weeks and faces a lefty in Richard today.

SS: Jed Lowrie – The former Red Sox shortstop is killing it with Houston this year, and he is red hot lately (.364 with 3 HRs in his last 13 games).
OF: Austin Jackson – Jackson is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now, and he faces a pitcher tomorrow who is just the opposite (LHP T. Milone 11.73 ERA in his last two starts).

OF: Giancarlo Stanton – The 6’5” Marlins outfielder can hit some unbelievable homeruns, and he has 6 homeruns in his last 15 games.  He also faces a lefty today in Johan Santana, and Stanton hits lefties very well over his career.
OF: Matt Diaz – We never know if Fredi Gonzalez will play Diaz against a LHP, but we have a feeling today he will go with Diaz against Jaime Garcia since Diaz dominates lefty hitters, and he is hitting .364 over the last two weeks.

U: Adam Laroche – Since returning from his injury, Laroche is 4 for 8 with two homeruns and 4 RBIs.
U: Jonathan Lucroy – Usually we always stay away from two catchers, but Lucroy is on fire (.395 over the last two weeks) and he is less than 5K, so we are rolling the dice.

SP: Kyle Drabek – Drabek’s ERA is 3.34, and it will only go down as he faces the worst team in the MLB today in the Twins.  Drabek is only 8.1K, and any guy with a sub 4 ERA under 10K is a must play.
SP: Rick Porcello – Porcello is 2-0 in his last 2 starts and faces one of the worst offenses in the league today (Oakland).

SP: Bud Norris – Norris has a 2.21 ERA with 11 Ks in his last two starts and faces the 30th best offense in the league (Pirates).
RP: Brett Myers – We expect Norris to have no problem with the Pirates which means Myers will come in to lock down the game.  Since Houston gets zero press, Myers has been flying under the radar (8 saves, 0.84 ERA).
