MLB Post for Tuesday

C- Humberto Quintero KC- Quintero somehow rose 1K over the last 24 hours on Draftstreet, but we still like the play. We spent some big numbers on the pitchers (35K), so it was necessary to spend little on a spot like Catcher. Quintero has good numbers, and is facing Porcello who has struggled mightily in the last two starts.

1B- James Loney LAD- The Dodgers are a two man team this season with Kemp and Ethier leading the way, but Loney has been hitting pretty good in the last two weeks (.286). Loney also has put up good numbers against Chacin hitting .304 in 23 at bats with only 2 strike outs.

2B- Skip Schumaker STL- Schumaker has a great matchup today against Morton. He is career 10-23 off of him with only 3 strikeouts. We like him a lot as he is hitting great since he came back from his DL stint. He has a six game hit streak currently.

3B- Miguel Cabrera DET- Contrary to what we wrote yesterday about Miggy (ESPN had wrong splits up for Miggy) he has even better numbers against Hochevar than we thought! 15 for 29 with 3 doubles and 2 home runs are his career numbers against Hochevar. Enough said.

SS- Tyler Pastornicky ATL- Pastornicky has been hitting great in the last 2 weeks (.333 4RBI, 6 runs). He is facing a great lefty in Hamels, but maybe he lets down against the bottom of the order tonight.

OF- Alex Gordon KC- Gordon is kind of pricey tonight costing us just under 9K to be on our team, but he has 8 hits in his last 4 games including 2 home runs and 2 doubles. He is facing Porcello tonight who has been riding the struggle bus in his last two starts. Two trends going opposite ways meet up today as the hot Gordon faces the ice cold Porcello.

OF- Brennan Boesch DET- Boesch has been swinging it great as of late. He has a 7 game hit streak right now, and has hit 2 home runs over that time. He is a career .364 hitter off of Hochevar (4-11). With the way Miggy hits off of Hochevar any time Boesch gets on base it should be an easy run scored. Even better, Austin Jackson is 6-19 in his career off of him, so there could be an RBI opportunity or two tonight for Boesch.

OF- Marlon Byrd BOS- Byrd went off last night for some big points. He easily went over 2 times his cost in points. We like him again tonight as he is facing the good, but young pitcher in Parker. For 3.8K, Byrd is a great low risk high reward guy with the way he and the Red Sox are hitting.

SP- Trevor Cahill ARI- Cahill is an experienced pitcher facing a depleted offense that isn't hitting great as a whole. Zimmerman and Morse are on the DL, and that has left the lineup a little weak at the bottom. The addition of Bryce Harper has made the lineup more exciting at least for now, but we like Cahill to pitch well especially for his 10K price.

SP-Ricky Nolasco MIA- Nolasco has put up some good numbers in the last two weeks. He has under a 3 ERA in those 12.1 innings. He is a decent strikeout guy. The Giants offense has been better as of late, but in San Francisco we like the big park to neutralize some of that offense.

RP- Santiago Casilla SF- Casilla has been great since the injury to Wilson has made him the closer of the Giants. He has potent stuff and has shown he is able to strike anyone out. The Giants have Cain on the mound which should mean a low scoring game for the Marlins, and we like Nolasco too. Nolasco should keep this game close enough for Casilla to get the save.
