MLB Picks for Friday

C- Carlos Santana CLE- Santana is facing Carlos Zambrano tonight and although the two have never faced, we like the matchup. Santana is hitting .280 in the last two weeks, and has a home run. He has 7 hits in his last 5 games with an RBI in 4 of them.

1B- Albert Pujols LAA- Pujols is starting to show that he might be back. If he's back we'll know it by the end of the night. Pujols is a career .381 hitter off of Jeff Suppan (16-42). Those are some great numbers, and considering he has a home run in the last two games we think he'll extend that streak to 3 straight.

2B- Jose Altuve HOU- As with all young hitters there is going to be some inconsistency. Even with the minor slump we think he just broke out of last night with 3 hits, he is still hitting over .300. He faces Nefatli Feliz, and for the price of just over 6K we think this is a good gamble.

3B- Kyle Seager SEA- Seager is another young hitter who has seen his batting average drop in the last two weeks. He is still hitting a very respectable .269 this season though. We picked him today though because he'll be in Colorado and facing a young pitcher in Alex White.

SS- Asdrubal Cabrera CLE- Cabrera is hitting .367 over the last two weeks with over 10 RBI and runs scored. These are impressive numbers which we think will continue tonight. He is facing Zambrano tonight a righty with good numbers as of late, but we like a couple of the Indians hitters tonight to do some damage.

OF- Andrew McCutchen PIT-  McCutchen is hitting RED hot right now with his batting average being .450 in the last two weeks with 5 home runs. We know he is facing last year's Cy Young and MVP winner, but he is 2-4 with 2 doubles in his career off of him. That's a very tiny sample size, but with the way he is hitting we like him to be one of the only Pirates hitters to show some offensive skills today.

OF- Brennan Boesch DET- Boesch hit us a home run last night and we were very pleased. He has a hit in each of his last 10 games, but his batting average is still not as impressive as you'd think. He's battling a major slump to start his year, but he needs to start getting hits in bunches. Tonight is the night against Morton.

OF- Matt Holliday STL- Holliday is having a great season even without Pujols behind him. In the last two weeks, he is hitting .288 with 3 home runs and over 10 RBI and runs scored. He is facing the soft tossing lefty in Ted Lilly, and we like him to take advantage of this matchup.

SP- Daniel Bard BOS- Tonight we have to go off complete regular season numbers and bet that the Phillies offense will live up to its average ability to hit. Bard can throw the sh*t out of the ball and could possibly be good for 7 innings 7 Ks. It's a tough day for starting pitching that's cheap, so we are rolling with the inconsistent Bard.

SP- Jarrod Parker OAK- Parker doesn't have the best of matchups as the A's face the Giants today, but Parker has great stuff. He's a young guy that has shown he can pitch in the big leagues the past few weeks. In his last two starts, he has under a 3 ERA and 8 Ks in 12.2 innings.

RP- Scott Downs LAA- It is tough to say whether or not Pujols is back and how that will affect the Angels offense, but we like to think the tides are turning and Pujols is going to be back to his normal form very soon. Because of this, we like the Angels to rarely only put up 1 run like they did yesterday. With Weaver on the mound, and an offense that is getting better but isn't 100% we like a 4-1 game here. Downs for the save.
