MLB Picks for Monday

C- AJ Ellis LAD- Ellis has been a very productive hitter at the plate this season. He is hitting over .350 in the last two weeks and is facing a lefty in Zito tonight. He won't get you much in terms of power or RBIs, but his high average will make up for it especially with his 4K price.

1B- Bryan LaHair CHC- There is no reason not to pick LaHair right now. We've been saying this for the past ten days or so, pick him! He's at a very affordable price right now being 7K, and has an above average matchup facing Hanson the righty.

2B- Robert Andino BAL- Andino has been hitting great in the last two weeks. He is hitting about .350 and has a home run to his name (hit one off of Buchholz yesterday). Even though he hits in the 9 hole most times, we like Andino alot plus he is only 4.6K.

3B- Mark Trumbo LAA- Trumbo has a great matchup today going against Liriano. He is a career 3-8 off of him with 2 home runs. Those are good enough numbers for him considering his price and he has been swinging the stick decently as of late.

SS- Jed Lowrie HOU- Lowrie has made a name for himself in Houston, and is currently hitting .400 over the last two weeks. He has also added 4 home runs and over ten runs scored and RBIs. Those are amazing numbers for a shortstop and we can't ignore it.

OF- Ichiro Suzuki SEA- Suzuki has always put up good numbers at Comerica Park, and is facing Fister who is coming off the DL tonight. We like Fister a lot against this offense, but he does give up a decent amount of hits. Against him you have to worry about GIDPs. Well, that won't happen with Ichiro, and he can always put up hits in bunches.

OF- Carlos Beltran STL- Beltran is also facing another pitcher of ours in Saunders. He has great numbers in a small sample going 4-7 off of him with a triple and a home run. Well, we aren't delusional. We don't expect Saunders to go 8 innings of scoreless baseball. We like him to do very good, but he will give up 2-3 runs more than likely. Beltran should be a part of them.

OF- Angel Pagan SF- Pagan is beginning to be a part of our team on more and more nights. He is amidst a great hitting streak. We really like him to keep it going against Lilly who has actually been a nice pitcher to have so far this season.

SP- Joe Saunders ARI- Saunders has a decent matchup tonight against the Cardinals, but we like him more for how consistent he has been. He has an under 2.00ERA in his last two starts, and has great stats overall this season. We love the play for only 10K

SP- Drew Pomeranz COL- Pomeranz will be pitching away from home which increases his value mightily for us. He is also going to be facing the Padres. What a great setup that will be for him. He has some high K potential especially versus this Padres lineup.

RP- Brett Myers HOU- Myers is now a closer, and has done a decent job with it this season. We love a tight ball game between the Astros and the Marlins in a game that features two average offenses against to pretty good arms in Rodriguez and Zambrano.
