Saturday's MLB Picks

C- Jesus Montero SEA- Montero faces the team that traded him this past offseason, and did very well against them yesterday. He hit an opposite field home run yesterday, and we like him to show more power today against Phelps today. He is hitting .271 in the last two weeks.

1B- Adam LaRoche WAS- LaRoche is crushing the baseball right now. He has a .355 batting average in the last two weeks with 4 home runs during that span. He is facing Latos who had a great start his last time out, but even if he does repeat that performance, we like LaRoche to get an extra base hit or two off of him.

2B- Robinson Cano NYY- Cano was great last night and has been the past two weeks. His .364 batting average over the last two weeks is incredible. He doesn't have the power numbers yet that we would like to see, but he is facing an average pitcher today in Noesi today.

3B- Ian Stewart CHC- Stewart won't impress anyone with his batting average over the last two weeks, but his low price and avearge power is enticing. He has been hitting better as of late and faces a righty today in Shawn Marcum.

SS- Starlin Castro CHC- Castro has been great this season and especially in the last two weeks. He has been hitting at a .345 clip in the last 15 days. Add that with 5 stolen bases and 10 runs scored and you have a great SS pick today.

OF- Josh Reddick OAK- Reddick is a hot hitter, and you can't deny him even if he is facing one of your pitchers today. He had two bombs yesterday and over 25 fantasy points. Today he faces Fister who gives up his fair share of hits.

OF- Eric Thames TOR- We needed a cheap OF and we found one with Thames. He is priced only at 4K even though he has been seen hitting in the middle of the Blue Jays order. A .250 batting average in the last two weeks isn't a bad batting average to have either. If you got fantasy points for facial hair Thames would be a must pick every day.

OF- Kirk Nieuwenhuis NYM- Kirk had a very nice pinch hit double yesterday. We are hoping he gets the start today as he has been a very solid hitter for his 5K price. Make sure to check the Mets lineup before locking him into your lineup.

SP- Trevor Cahill ARI- Cahill has a 2.55 ERA in his last two starts, and is facing the Giants at home. San Francisco doesn't have the best of offenses now that Kung Fu Panda is out, and he'll be in familiar territory today.

SP- Doug Fister- Fister was great in his last start giving up 0 runs and striking out 3 in 7 innings. Fister is a big time control pitcher that induces lots of ground balls. He should be very successful today as they face the A's in their spacious ballpark.

RP- Addison Reed CWS- Reed is a part of the now "closer by committee" that Ventura has said will happen in Chicago. We like Reed the best because of pure talent, and we like him today because Santiago threw yesterday. In our opinion Reed is the guy to have for saves in Chicago.
