MLB Picks Saturday

C- Matt Wieters BAL- Weiters is hitting great this season, and we think it continues today. He's facing a young arm in Alvarez (RHP), and his ability to switch hit is always nice. The hitters around him are hot, so we like his RBI/Runs scored chances for this game. Wieters is a high priced catcher, but not top 5 so you won't break the bank with this pick.

Other Catchers: Alex Avila DET, Carlos Santana CLE

1B- Paul Konerko CWS- Konerko is hitting around .400 right now, and has always been a consistent hitter for the White Sox. He has 30 home run power potential, and this seems like one of those games where he will get him one. He is facing one of the most unknown pitchers in the Tigers system in Adam Wilk. Wilk is a lefty that relies more on accuracy than power. Just one missed spot could give Konerko his value.

Other First Basemen: Bryan LaHair CHC, Mat Gamel MIL

2B- Ian Kinsler TEX- It's at this point where you consider Kinsler to be a must play based off position and price. Kinsler is a higher priced guy, but he is too hot to pass up. 10K is a lot of money to spend on someone, but we have no problem spending it on a guy facing a RHP in Blackburn who has always given up plenty of hits every start.

Other Second Basemen: Michael Young TEX, Kelly Johnson TOR

3B- Kyle Seager SEA- Seager is a young hitter for the Mariners that has been surprising some people. Seager is a lefty facing another lefty in Milone for the A's. This season he is 2-5 with a home run against lefties, so that's nice to see.

Other Third Basemen: Evan Longoria TB, Edwin Encarnacion TOR

SS- Ruben Tejada NYM- Tejada is a right handed hitting middle infielder facing another righty in Worley for the Phillies. This wouldn't be a pick of ours if he was facing one of the Big Three. Tejada is hitting pretty well with a couple of runs scored and RBIs so far this season. He's a nice play for 5K.

Other Shortstops: Brandon Crawford SF, Zach Cozart CIN

OF- Matt Kemp LAD- We aren't sure how guys like Victorino and Cargo are priced ahead of Kemp, but no complaints here. We'll take Kemp in a heartbeat for his 9.5K price. Before last night's game he had 2 home runs, 9 runs scored, and 8 RBIs. That's a lot of fantasy points for those of you counting at home.

OF- Yoenis Cespedes OAK- Cespedes is a threat to hit a mammoth home run and then follow it up the next at bat with a single and two stolen bases. He's an athlete to the max. He's facing a young righty in Noesi. He's already hit 3 home runs this year with 7 runs scored and 5 RBIs before last night's game.

OF- Michael Saunders SEA- Saunders is the second cheapest OF on the market today which is astounding considering he has played routinely for the Mariners. He is facing Milone, a lefty, so make sure he's in the lineup before you play him, but if he starts he could pick you up a sneaky 4-5 points.

SP- Bud Norris HOU- We have discovered that if you throw enough innings and put up good K numbers than you're a good fantasy pickup. Well, Norris is that kind of a pitcher that isn't going to cost you an arm and a leg. At just under 12K, he's a great pick against the Marlins who have plenty of hitters that aren't afraid to strikeout.

SP- Jonathan Niese NYM- Niese isn't the best pitcher on the market today, but we like his K numbers against a team that can't hit without its two best players (Utley and Howard). As long as Niese can get 6 innings pitched and 6 Ks he's going to be a very good pick.

RP- Sean Marshall CIN- Marshall has to get a save sometime right? The Nationals' offense isn't potent enough to get a big lead against the Reds, and we think the Reds will win. Simple enough for us.

2. Miguel Cabrera
3. Bud Norris
4. Yu Darvish
5. CJ Wilson
6. Matt Kemp
7. Pablo Sandoval
8. Shawn Marcum
