C – Jonathan Lucroy: Sure he went 0-3 last night, but he had the night off two nights ago, so he is almost guaranteed to start. He is batting .310 on the young season and he is facing LHP Drew Pomeranz who struggled mightily in his first outing.
1B – Freddie Freeman: Other than Matt Kemp, Freeman is without an argument the hottest hitter in baseball. He has had 4 straight multi-hit games which include 3 homeruns and 12 RBIs over that span.
2b – Mark Ellis: Although only batting .250, Ellis has an 8
game hitting streak and faces Kyle Weiland today (0-2 with an 8.44 ERA).
3b – Mark Trumbo: Trumbo played LF last night and stayed hot
going 2-4 and raising his batting average to .391 while hitting in the 5
hole. For someone who is batting close
to .400, he is a steal at 7.4K.SS – Zach Cozart: The rookie SS has been struggling lately, but today the right handed hitting Cozart faces LHP Paul Maholm (0-2 with a 13.50 ERA). Very favorable matchup.
OF – Drew Stubbs: Stubbs is 6 for his last 10 which include a homeruns, 2 stolen bases, and 4 RBIs. He is now batting .264 after his early season struggles, and faces the LHP Maholm today. In addition, Stubbs has a 6 game hitting streak.
OF – Corey Hart: After his hot start, Hart has cooled off,
but he matches up real nice today against Drew Pomeranz. Look for Hart to return to his early season
form, and begin to heat up again. He
already has 4 homeruns and 8 RBIs.
OF – Matt Diaz: The Braves face a LHP today (Joe Saunders),
and we all know Fredi Gonzalez finds a way to get Diaz in the lineup when a lefty
pitches. Diaz is a LHP killer and is
hitting .333 vs. lefties this season.
Over his career, Diaz is hitting over .340 vs. lefties.
U – Ryan Braun: Braun is 0 for his last 14, but with last
year’s NL MVP priced under 8K combined with a matchup against Pomeranz, you
have to plug him into your lineup.
U – James Loney: After a very slow start to his year, Loney
is 7 for his last 22 and once again faces Weiland today. A very nice play at just over 5K.
SP – Philip Humber: In his first and only start this year,
Humber threw 5.1 innings and gave up 1 run while striking out 7. We hope he can repeat this performance as he
is priced under 9K, and facing a dismal Mariner offense.
SP – Jake Westbrook: 2 starts, 7 innings in each game, only
1 earned run, and he has 2 wins. We see
3-0 as an almost lock as he faces the WORST offense in the MLB (Pirates).SP – Anibal Sanchez: In 2 starts, Sanchez has thrown 12.1 innings, and has recorded a 1-0 record with 11 Ks and a 2.92 ERA. Today he faces the Strasburg and the Nationals which rank in the bottom half of almost every offensive category.
RP – Fernando Rodney: Rodney gave up his first earned run of the season on Thursday in a non save situation, but he still has a 1.69 ERA with 4 saves. We expect a pitcher’s duel against the Twins today (Shields vs. Pavano) with Rodney coming in to close out a 4-3 game.
